Tournaments
Where do we compete?
We compete in ECTC (Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference) and NCTA (National Collegiate Taekwondo Association) tournaments. Every year, we typically compete in four to six tournaments, including MIT, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, UVM, and nationals (varies by year).
Who can compete?
All registered Brown University students are eligible to compete in ECTC (Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference) Tournaments. Students may compete in NCTA (National Collegiate Taekwondo Association) tournaments up to one year after graduation.

That being said, any given student's final eligibility is also dependent on approval from the Instructional Board. Please direct any concerns towards them.
Is competing dangerous?
During contact sparring all competitors are required to wear protective gear which significantly reduces the danger of injuries. Injuries are not unavoidable, but the chances of injury are reduced.

Additionally, our instructors are trained to put safety first at all points. Classes are taught in such a way that injuries are minimized. If an instructor notices signs that a student may be at risk of an injury during matches, they are instructed to pull the match in interest of safety for the student.
